Has credit for writing or co-writing either lyrics or music for a notable composition. HIS WORK "THE SONG AND THE SLOGAN" was made into a program for the PBS network with the great operatic tenor Jerry Hadley (see Mr. Hadley's wiki page) and won an Emmy for best music.

Has written musical theatre of some sort (includes musicals, operas, etc.) that was performed in a notable theatre that had a reasonable run, as such things are judged in their particular situation, context, and time. HIS WORK TOO MUCH COFFEE MAN OPERA may be the most OFTEN-PERFORMED 21ST. CENTURY OPERA WITH OVER 70 PERFORMANCES, INCLUDING a run at COMIC-CON and its premiere 3-weekend run at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts in 2006

Has written a composition that has won (or in some cases been given a second or other place) in a major music competition not established expressly for newcomers. EMMY FOR BEST MUSIC
