Has written musical theatre of some sort (includes musicals, operas, etc.) that was performed in a notable theatre that had a reasonable run, as such things are judged in their particular situation, context, and time. HIS WORK TOO MUCH COFFEE MAN OPERA may be the most OFTEN-PERFORMED 21ST. CENTURY OPERA WITH OVER 70 PERFORMANCES, INCLUDING a run at COMIC-CON and its premiere 3-weekend run at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts in 2006
Has written a composition that has won (or in some cases been given a second or other place) in a major music competition not established expressly for newcomers. EMMY FOR BEST MUSIC
