Angela Pertelli a Hero?
[edit]Does that mean she has displayed a superpower? What? Being able to transform from a whack-job to a controlling influence in the span of a month? I guess that's a cool power. Padillah 16:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Linderman's first name.
[edit]His first name is Daniel, as according to Heroes 360 experience: http://www.yamagatofellowship.org/videoPlayer5.shtml —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jganetsk (talk • contribs) 15:39, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Niki calls him "Bill" as she and D.L. phase into the room. She may be calling him this for other reasons but the most prevalent is - it's his name. Padillah 15:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- I thought she said "Boo", actually. --Pentasyllabic 18:41, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Even the closed captions said "Bill"... but they've been wrong before. I'll go back over it and listen closely. Padillah 19:14, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, what I hear is "Beewww" which could be "Boo" or "Bill". It's very poor sound at that point and her lips don't move (you can tell it was ADR'd). I guess the closed captions are the tie-breaker. If anyone else comes up with anything more lucid let us in on it. Padillah 04:49, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- I always interpret it as "boo". Since he wasn't expecting them to show up, she said it sarcastically to sort of mock him. I highly doubt that she said "Bill". Ophois 13:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- If you watch the episode online on NBC, she clearly says "boo". Ophois 14:14, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- On Monday, after the episode, there's supposed to be a live blog with Tim Kring. I'm going to try to ask him about "boo" or "Bill", so I suggest just leaving it as "Mr. Linderman" until then. Ophois 00:49, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, they didn't answer my question on the blog. However, seeing as no other characters have made reference to Linderman's first name, I believe that she merely said "boo". Ophois 03:23, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- The closed caption has her saying "Bill". There is no doubt about that. If you have the ability to turn on CC try it and rewatch the episode. Until something more definitive can be found, I stand by "Bill", but I'm not going to start an edit war over it. Padillah 15:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Closed captioning can be wrong, though. And besides, it makes no sense for her to have said "Bill". The revelation of Bennet's name was dramatic, so they wouldn't have revealed Linderman's name in that way, IMO. Ophois 16:20, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Why not? It was never a big secret. It was never actively concealed (like HRG's was). Besides, "call me Noah" may be dramatic for you but it's kind of "how real people introduce themselves" to me. Like I said, I don't think it's worth getting into an edit war over, he's a minor character in three episodes. If his influence wasn't so strong he'd almost be un-noteworthy. Padillah 19:42, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Okay, having seen the linked video from the original poster, I don't see the problem. It is evident that he is dead and that his name is Daniel, and as captions cannot be held as reliable, this is the highest canon we have, and the page should be moved to Daniel Linderman. Therequiembellishere 22:52, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Another Heroes 360 experience web site refers to him as Mr. Daniel Linderman. http://www.corinthianlasvegas.com. KC 18:58, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Wait, isn't it Wikipedia convention to use the name that is most commonly recognized? If so, shouldn't his page still be titled "Mr. Linderman", but include his first name in the description. The average person or general viewer who is watching the show won't know his first name, only that he goes by "Mr. Linderman" or "Linderman". We could have redirects for "Daniel Linderman". KC 19:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- "Most common" in what was basically a small part of one series of a TV show is a bit tenuous. Further, Wikipedia generally discourages the use of titles in bio articles. I don't think the current position is going to confuse many potential readers. Chris Cunningham 19:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- The practice *is* to go with most common, and as such I've reverted the page move. For the vast majority of Heroes fans, the character will be known primarily as "Mr. Linderman". If Season 2 sees the widespread use of "Daniel", we can easily move the page at that time. Thoughts? --Ckatzchatspy 19:54, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Per below. This is bogus, and I'm not wasting my time having the exact same argument as wasted people's free time for Noah Bennet back in the day. Chris Cunningham 19:58, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- As per below, it would have been best to allow discussion to finish before making the move - especially as you're aware of what happened with Noah Bennet. One difference here is that with Bennet, the character's name was announced in the series, and he remains active. Linderman, on the other hand, has only been named "Mr. Linderman" on screen, and (as he's now dead) it is unknown as to how or if he'll be referred to again. --Ckatzchatspy 20:02, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Since his first name is never stated on the show, it would probably be best to have a citation in the opening paragraph. Ophois 19:55, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Death
[edit]DL phased his hand into Linderman's skull, but I was under the impression he ripped out his brain as well
- All I could confirm was a bloody fist but I'll take a closer look. Padillah 17:21, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Nah, I stepped through it and it's his bloody fist. Padillah 04:56, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone else noticed that his hair slightly changed color when he got punched in the brain? Ten Surp 05:42, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hair, skin, eyes... head in general. It looks to be a side effect of D.L.'s phasing, but I couldn't really say. Padillah 19:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Page move
[edit]Wikipedia generally discourages the use of titles in bio articles. There's no particularly good reason to use just his last name (Noah's wasn't mentioned until five seconds before the end of the first season) and a couple of good ones (clarity, MoS concerns) to use his first. Chris Cunningham 19:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't this fun! I haven't been in enough mindless ego wars over no-brainer copy edits tonight! Chris Cunningham 19:54, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Honestly, all you need to do is allow the discussion to finish so that we can achieve consensus. --Ckatzchatspy 19:59, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright, his full name has been revealed on the show in this picture and in the Corinthian Casino's website, the Yamagato Fellowship's website and by Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite here; it's time for a page move! Therequiembellishere (talk) 08:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
