COI tag (October 2022)

[edit]

Article appears to have been repeatedly edited by the subject of the article. Toddst1 (talk) 03:15, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The original article was NOT written by me. I don't know who wrote it. I only made minor edits, such as publications. If that's a problem, I'm sure there is a way to solve it.

Edit Request to Remove Cleanup Tag

[edit]

Hi, I am Dana G. Peleg. While I did make minor updates to this article before, I did not create it, nor did I make any changes that added promotion or bias. I kindly request that the COI tag at the top of the article be removed after checking for any issues. It has been over a year since the tag was placed and I don't believe there are problems with neutrality, sourcing or BLP violations. Thank you so much, Dana Danagpeleg (talk) 19:31, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HI @Danagpeleg, let me take a look but I think it should be fine. -- FeldBum (talk) 20:58, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'm going to remove the tag, but please don't edit further without edit requests. I'm going to revert some of your edits as well, since they are not appropriate for Wikipedia. A lot of the information here is unsourced as well, so let's add in some citations. I'll add tags to the major unsourced pieces, but you writing it won't count as an independent source. I read Hebrew, so feel free to respond with Hebrew sources if you want. -- FeldBum (talk) 19:24, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request Change by subject of Article

[edit]

1. Please remove the following sentence as I do not need to have it included and it's difficult to verify: "Peleg has teaching certificates for art and Hebrew language instruction."

2. Please remove the date 2008 from the following phrase as it is incorrect and unsourced: "When she returned to Israel in 2008..." Please also add the existing citation to the same sentence, which verifies our return to Israel: גלית לוי (January 15, 2010). "כשיש ילדים יוצאים מהארון בכל יום". ynet (in Hebrew). Retrieved March 26, 2019.

3. Please add these three citations to verify the paragraph about the G. in my name:

דנה ג. פלג, "מי אני, מה אני", מגזין את, מאי 1996, ע. 12*

דנה ג. פלג, "הנה אני", מגזין את, פברואר (2) 1996, ע. 16*

שרון חן, "לדעת אשה", מגזין את, יוני (2) 2000, ע. 80* Danagpeleg (talk) 20:34, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(1) and (2)  Done, I don't read Hebrew and can't find the sources for (3) to verify. Rusalkii (talk) 22:32, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@FeldBum Can you help with #3? Dana is a friend of mine in Santa Cruz (not a client!) Ocaasi t | c 22:55, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'll take a look now. -- FeldBum (talk) 12:48, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there someplace I can read מגזין את online? In general, those citations would be considered first-party, since Peleg wrote the first two, but I think they would work here. I would want to read them first. Thanks, @Ocaasi -- FeldBum (talk) 12:51, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dana has paper (physical) copies. I will get them scanned via email and share with you however you feel comfortable. Ocaasi t | c 17:39, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you drop a shared link on my Talk page? -- FeldBum (talk) 17:04, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about something like this: "When her short story collection, Figs, My Love, came out in 2000, she added her last name, Peleg, but kept the G. for Gal. In 1996, Peleg wrote an essay for At magazine, entitled "Here I am/This is me" in which she explained that she was adopting the "G" as her middle initial as it better represented her contemporary identity." I'd use דנה ג. 16* as the source. -- FeldBum (talk) 13:48, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This looks great! I have two suggestions:
1. My bad! The article you mention is from 2000, not 1996.
2. "but kept the G., for Gal, her previous pseudonym."
That's all.
Thank you so much! Your help here is highly appreciated. Danagpeleg (talk) 16:34, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That works - I'll make that change. -- FeldBum (talk) 17:00, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @FeldBum, I was wondering if you were still able to make this change?
Thanks so much, Dana Danagpeleg (talk) 18:40, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can, just a quick clarification. The article "הנה אני" is from 2000, not 1996? -- FeldBum (talk) 21:06, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. It's from February 2000. Sorry for the confusion... Danagpeleg (talk) 21:11, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done. --FeldBum (talk) 21:38, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! Thank you! Danagpeleg (talk) 22:15, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Changes by the Author (with Citations)

[edit]

Hi, I have addressed all of the citation needed tags below. Could someone (like @FeldBum) please add them?

  1. '''Citation Provided''': Peleg began writing short stories as a teenager, but returned to it as a serious vocation in 1995, after coming out.
  2. '''Provide Citation''' (and cut uncited claim): "Despite being fictional, the stories were based on Peleg's personal life experiences.[9]" Citation: שרון חן, "לדעת אשה", את,  יוני (2) 2000, עע. 78-80
  3. '''Add Citations''' (and add 'by 'whom'): The book was warmly received by the LGBT community and the literary community in general by critics such as Ilan Sheinfeld, Menachem Sheizaf and Vered Dor. Citations:
  4. Add citation (while removing 'and more'): Peleg translates plays: "Avshalom" by Noam Meiri, "Black Snow" and "Almost Blue" by Keith Reddin, "Cash on Delivery" by Michael Cooney, and "Betty's Summer Vacation" by Christopher Durang.
