Talk:Dan Tien
Rename to Dan tien?
[edit]Because I believe that is the correct spelling.... Do you agree? Triponi 22:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think you can just move it its clearly a typo. --TheYmode 22:44, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've moved it. There was no page in the way to require a Requested Move. Ryulong 01:05, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually, the pinyin romanisation of the term is Chinese: Dāntián 丹田. Also there is Japanese; Tanden 丹田; Korean: 단전 DanJeon 丹田; Thai Dantian ตันเถียน. The Wade-Giles romanisation is tan1 t'ien2. I think the title for this page is a conflation of the pinyin and Wade-Giles spellings. We already have a page at Dantian for the term, so any unique info on this page can be added to the other and this one made a redirect, I'd say. --Fire Star 火星 13:03, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
I fully suport the merge, preferably to this page, they are after all one and the same. --Salix alba (talk) 17:04, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I fully support the merge. If anyone doesn't can you explain the difference between them to me? :-) Triponi 17:51, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I think we have consensus on merging the articles the question is which name it should be under. My least favorite is Dan Tien as I don't think the capitalisation is right. A quick google search gives
- "Tan tien" - 57,700
- "Tantien" - 20,400
- "Dan tien" - 818,000
- "Dantien" - 30,100
- "Tanden" - 2,510,000 - many links seem to be to people with the name or a German word
- "DanJeon" - 1,230
From this it seems like Dan tien is the most common. --Salix alba (talk) 20:19, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
The least work would be to keep Dantian which has more pages pointing to it (40ish) to it than Dan Tien (6). --Salix alba (talk) 20:24, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I have now merged it to Dantian Triponi 22:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
