Dan's a very good friend of mine and I'd like to fix his Birthdate here. It's actually December 10, 1920.

I'm afraid Wikipedia doesn't work that way — if "we took everybody word for it," anybody could claim to be anyone and say anything. Personal claims and claims made on non-verified social media are disallowed as reference citations. Spiegle was born on December 10. Here is a documented source. Hopefully it is up to Wikipedias standards:
