I recall a slightly different version of the Ingram weather intro as brought to you by "Peter the Meter Reader and his weather machine and his TV weather girl Fats Pontoon, her mustache, her knobby knees and her orchestra."

Top 40 Satellite Survey

[edit]

The article needs to mention Top 40 Satellite Survey with Dan Ingram, his short-lived syndicated countdown show (on the then CBS RadioRadio). 121a0012 (talk) 04:57, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Voice-over work

[edit]

No mention at all of Ingram's voice in so many national commercials of the WABC era? This would seem to merit an entire section. Eplater (talk) 09:36, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Too Much Like "Promo" Article

[edit]

As a teenager I was a fan of Dan Ingram, BUT...this article is near to a hagiography. I just eliminated peacock language, and if someone doesn't document the quotes in a week or two, they're going the way of the Dodo Bird...and other PR fluff @ Wikipedia. Place of Birth

[edit]

For a long time Oceanside NY was listed as the place of birth. Recently two anon IPs changed it, first to Brooklyn, then to Rockville Center. The only book I found that mentioned a birthplace stated that it was Oceanside. I corrected it and added the reference. Amsgearing (talk) 21:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DJ Empress - Dan Ingram’s Daughter

[edit]

Why are people continuously deleting DJ Empress (Christina Ingram) from her own Father’s Wikipedia page now that he is dead? It is WRONG & needs to stop! You can not erase history! KaiBK (talk) 19:27, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please include the following biographical information:

Children - Chris Ingram, Daniel Ingram, David Ingram, Robert Ingram, Phillip Ingram; Christina Ingram, Jacqueline Ingram, Patricia Gavigan, Michelle Rydberg

Spouses - Kathleen Patricia Ingram (neé Snediker) Anita Strand Schonbrunn Ingram (January 1963 to late 1974) Jeannie Weigel Maureen Donnelly

(Currently in the process of researching marriage / divorce dates for each spouse. He was still married to Maureen Donnelly at the time of his death.)

ALSO OF INTEREST: Mr. Ingram's daughter, Christina, grew up to be DJ and music producer in her own right, performing under the name DJ Empress. As references are made to his son Chris' DJ career (under the Name section), I feel this is a notable inclusion to the article. • Completed in part. I added spouses and children to the Infobox, sourced to The New York Times. However, I could not include the claim that Ingram's daughter Christina is a noted DJ in her own right, performing under the name DJ Empress, because the source submitted by Blockofjoy is an exact republication of a post by the Daily Mail. Wikipedia consensus has determined that since the Daily Mail is generally unreliable, its use as a reference is to be generally prohibited, and it should not be used as a source in an article. I interpret that to likewise prohibit citing an exact copy of a post by the Daily Mail. KalHolmann (talk) 00:33, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the children's names were online for one hour, 29 minutes anyway. Until they weren't. Trim we must for a better Wikipedia. KalHolmann (talk) 02:31, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
