Some comments and questions
[edit]This article looks pretty good. It would probably quality for GA class, but I don't think that it's sufficiently detailed to reach A class (for A class the article would need to cover his military career in much greater detail)
- I think that it's unusual for Thomlinson to have completed ADFA but not subsequently become an officer (which requires passing a further, and apparently very challenging, course at Duntroon). Do we know anything about his early military service?
- He didn't - this was an error. Corrected. Hawkeye7 (talk) 06:05, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- On that topic, while direct entry in the special forces is possible, most soldiers who later become commandos spend a period in a conventional army unit (typically one of the infantry battalions) before they attempt - and pass - the very challenging special forces selection course. Do we know which path Thomlinson took?
- Yes. There is something called the Special Forces Direct Recruitment Scheme which allows you to go straight into the commandos. Hawkeye7 (talk) 06:05, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- "with the elbow on his right arm coming out through a hole" - I'm not sure what the correct terminology is for a horrific injury such as this, but that doesn't sound right
- You need to introduce Scott Palmer
- "they look at permanent disability only after that disability has stabalised and his condition had not become stable until a month or so before then" - this is a bit awkward
- The statement that "Thomlinson snowboarded prior to being wounded by the Taliban," isn't supported by the citation given. I didn't double check the other references. Nick-D (talk) 04:33, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
