[edit]I have deleted this sentence as it is not referenced. The conversion to Islam by the Kashmiris was the result of a number of unique historically and sociological reasons, not as a result of simply corruption by the Dammara feudal class.
It was as a consequence of their many disputes with the kings of the Lohara dynasty, during a prolonged period of corruption, internecine fighting and misrule, that the region eventually passed into control by Muslim rulers.

- The sentence certainly needs sourcing. However, it seems that you have misunderstood it: it does not refer to conversion to Islam but rather control by Muslim rulers, which is not at all the same thing. Time and again, all around the world, religious conversion has followed the assumption of control by another group. It is much less frequently the case that the conversion occurs before the assumption of control. - Sitush (talk) 10:59, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
