[edit]" Daly Cherry-Evans is the son of former Norths Devils and Redcliffe Dolphins forward Troy "Bluey" Evans and his wife Kellie. Evans was known as a tough Hooker or back rower who spent as much time serving suspensions as he did playing and was never one to shy away from using the biff. His great uncle Max Cherry made his first-grade debut with Cities in 1948 as a halfback aged 14 and finally retired from playing in 1975, after 28 seasons in the Roma and Dalby competitions and was once described by Arthur Beetson described as among the greatest players he saw and Roma's best ever product, better even than Darren Lockyer. In fact, he was so good, that his father felt like he needed to edit Cherry-Evans' Wikipedia page to bring to everyone's attention that he was in fact, Yesterday's Hero. Cherry-Evans was named after one of his English-born mother's favourite British athletes, 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games Decathlon Gold Medallist Daley Thompson. It is believed that in the absence of google, the parents were unable to deduce the spelling of the name and, as is usually the case in Queensland, they misspelt the name. A born and raised Queenslander who played his junior football for Mackay's Brothers club. "
I don't even know what's going on here. Someone's having a laugh.

Also: "If his father and uncle were still playing, it has been suggested that either one would have taken the award in front of Cherry-Evans" I think Mr Evans might be pulling on our collective leg. Just maybe. Alcatraz ii (talk) 01:39, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
