Copyright infringement?
[edit]That someone can just put a copyright infringement banner on this page giving a random pdf as unquoted/illegal source, and not even explain where to find the allegedly copied sentences in that document, is beyond me. Perhaps the right course would be to cut out the allegedly copyrighted sections and then start a discussion about it. It certainly sheds a dubious light on the matter just to block the page and not even start a discussion about it - I'm in favor of restoring the page until the offence has been specified. A link to a 21-page-PDF is NOT a proof for copyright infringement. Be more specific. On which page of the external document is the copyright infringement to be found? Are we supposed to read it cover to cover just to look for possibly non-existent illegal quotes in the Wikipedia page? Leon Alberti (talk) 17:01, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Copyright problem removed
[edit]Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.thedailystar.net/campus/2009/09/02/sound.htm and http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/indojazz/message/14141?var=0&l=1. Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:19, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Capitalization
[edit]Should "Eurhythmics" be capitalized? It's capitalized inconsistently in the article. Is it a common noun? TypoBoy (talk) 12:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- The entries at Wiktionary.org and Merriam-Webster.com suggest that it is a common noun. I'm going to change its capitalization in the article to reflect that. TypoBoy (talk) 03:02, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- I used Google Books to search "Rhythm and life: the work of Emile Jaques-Dalcroze". That's an authoritative source for this issue. And it spells "eurhythmics" with a small "e". Since logic already brought us to the same conclusion (Dalcroze meant for eurhythmics to be a body of knowledge, not a brand), this seems to resolve the issue. Consequentially, I plan not only to change the capitalization of all occurrences of "eurhythmics", but also to move the article, currently "Dalcroze Eurhythmics", to "Dalcroze eurhythmics".
- Does anybody object to that? TypoBoy (talk) 01:38, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
Further reading list seems truncated
[edit]The "further reading" list seems to stop at the letter C, like someone gave up and moved on. I propose adding some notable sources on this topic after C, and I'll try to get some expert contributions to this topic.

Change Talk page category to match Article page
[edit]For some reason this Talk page is in the Dance category, while the Article page to which it pertains is in the Music Education category. The article is correct based on the evidence presented there. I am going to alter the Talk page categories to conform to the Article page.

- Daclcroze euhrythmics was developed for music education, but because it uses movement and dance to teach music concepts is also has applications in dance and dance education. The categories are generated from the wiki project dance banner. 4meter4 (talk) 02:57, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- @4meter4: Thanks. I looked at WikiProject_Dance and it says it is believed to be inactive. Does that mean I should delete the banner? Just trying to learn the etiquette. Edinburghpotsdam (talk) 00:06, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- I wouldn’t. There’s still dialogue on that WikiProject’s talk page from 2021, so it may not be completely inactive.4meter4 (talk) 00:27, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
