Hafan Pwllheli
[edit]Some say the beginning of the end of Dafydd Iwan's political career was the Hafan Pwllheli fiasco. A proposal to extend the marina in Pwllheli by 300 berths was supported by Dafydd Iwan, but rejected by many Plaid Cymru councillors for being a threat to the Welsh language.
Removed the above which is (a) unattributed (b) far too strongly expressed, makes it sound as if it's taken for granted his career is on the rocks. The way the BBC report it [1] it hardly looks like a "fiasco" or the end of his career, more like just one incident in a long political life, and not (yet at least) worthy of inclusion in this short entry. Date of birth
[edit]Oh dear, we have a puzzle here! On Dafydd Iwan's official website (http://dafyddiwan.com), the English part of the site says Aug 23rd, but the Welsh part says 24th! (A web search throws up lots of 24ths, but these references have come from this site, which said 24 up till today, when it was changed). Personally I'd be tempted to trust the Welsh more (i.e. 24rd) as the original article was almost certainly written in Welsh, then translated (with the error) to the English. Both versions of his site now say 24th. --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 16:42, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Why does the article mention Alun Ffred, but not his rather famous brother Huw Ceredig?130.212.93.30 (talk) 18:22, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
