– These are different entities. The Ohio store closed in 2018 with the retirement of its owner, and now operates only online. Its Instagram and Facebook accounts have not been updated in a year, and the website currently is tagged as not taking any orders. In comparison, the Virginia store is currently active with recent media and as a tourist attraction.
I thought of making a disambiguation page including two others - so four in total with Daedalus Books, Dedalus Books, Daedalus Books (Virginia), Dedalus Press - but even so, the Virginia location has more media than the others combined. For now I just want that one made primary. Bluerasberry (talk) 14:13, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced there is a strong enough argument that Daedalus Books in Virginia is the primary topic. Making Daedalus Books a dab page would be a better option IMHO. --John B123 (talk) 20:22, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose Checking the sources, the Maryland store has better sourcing for notability purposes. Everything in Virginia is a local source, except for one WaPo article. Likewise I believe the Maryland business has/had a national footprint (catalogs), while the Virginia store is mainly local retail. I would Support Daedalus Books as a dab page, per John B123. -- GreenC 21:10, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support 1st, a DAB page is probably best until we have views for the Viginia one especially given PT swaps can cause problems. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:25, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- What is "1st"? -- GreenC 01:23, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- @GreenC, Crouch, Swale, and John B123: I think all four of us like the idea of a disambiguation page. I can set that up if anyone else can confirm the group decision. We have 4 Daedalus book sellers with Wikipedia articles and 4 people in agreement about disambiguation. Can anyone confirm and close? Bluerasberry (talk) 20:29, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes that's indeed what I'm suggesting, moving the Ohio one away from the base name and creating a DAB there instead of moving the Virginia one to the base name. Crouch, Swale (talk) 23:05, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- According to WP:RM it requires an uninvolved editor. But if everyone including the nom is in agreement, we can reasonably close and implement. If anyone complains over the next week or so, undo the close, unwind the changes, and re-open the RM to let it run the full week. But given 4 out of 4 editors in agreement, it would take a lot to change course. -- GreenC 01:44, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
