numbers don't make sense

[edit]

With that a total of 366 engines of this class had been built in just under four years. After the Second World War, 216 engines went into the Deutsche Bundesbahn fleet and 122 were left in the hands of the DR in East Germany. There is evidence that, in addition, 22 lo That's 360 locomotives accounted for after the war. One of the preferred targets for attack planes were locomotives (anecdote from my Dad, Occupied Czechoslovakia. When American low flying planes showed up by a moving passenger train, they would do a fly by. Engineers would disconnect the wagons, let the engine take off, which would be shot by the planes. Common gentlemanly war courtesy). Anyway and either way, with train yards being a major major military bombing objective, etc., makes no sense that of 366 locos built, 360+ would have survived.YamaPlos talk 00:17, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
