Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Genius of Chang Dai-chien Poster.gif, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Wrongful deletion of article sections

[edit]

Two sections of this article were nominated (Cachao: Uno Mas and Genius of Chang Dai-Chien) for deletion because of copyright infraction, but they are taken from the DOC Film Website, that is cited as a reference. The only issue I see here is to add the exact reference, but I don't know how to do this. in the references.

The references are: http://docfilm.sfsu.edu/productions/cachao-uno-m-s and http://docfilm.sfsu.edu/productions/chang-dai-chien-california — Preceding unsigned comment added by Efibla (talkcontribs) 02:09, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No reply on article editing

[edit]

Hello, there are a couple of notices on this article that I am waiting a reply for since a few days ago. I need this to be solved soon regardless of the decision. But no one answers this talk page. What can I do now? (Efibla (talk) 04:56, 23 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I am trying to edit this article but I can see that there is no reply to the copyright issue. Can I as a user erase the content and reedit everything? (KivaJames (talk) 16:25, 13 February 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for working on this issue; I've removed a little lingering content from there and from other sections, including some material closely paraphrased from [1].
In order for us to use content taken directly from the DOC Film Institute's publications, they will need to put a release on their website such as described at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:34, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality check

[edit]

Much of the language of this article does not sound neutral. Rather, it sounds like a press release or promotional material for its subject. It should be edited to maintain Wikipedia's policy of Neutral point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.103.221.161 (talk) 12:25, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the entry to remove as much non neutral language as I could, but there is sill the copyright issue unresolved. When will I get a reply? (KivaJames (talk) 18:12, 14 February 2012 (UTC))[reply]
