propose merge of albums to artist
[edit]The album and single articles contain no sources to indicate stand alone notability - per guidelines salvagable content should be merged here. Active Banana (talk) 20:29, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- This album has charted which makes it notable--G Zak S (talk) 15:46, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- WP:MUSIC: "All articles on albums, singles or songs must meet the basic criteria at the notability guidelines, with significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." and "Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article;" and " Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article," (emph added) Claims that it charted are not sufficient. Active Banana (talk) 16:52, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- This article is far from a stub it should stay put--G Zak S (talk) 17:24, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- How so? What verifiable content is in the article? A single reference to chart placement can easily be incorporated into this article - rather than having three articles which are each very very very weak there would be one article that is approaching substantive. Active Banana (talk) 17:39, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- So if i add more references to the article would it stay on?--G Zak S (talk) 18:50, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
- Adding reliably sourced content by third parties that extend beyond chart placement to include actual "significant content" - then yes, the guidelines and policies indicate a standalone article is probably indicated. Active Banana (talk) 19:41, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
- this now has more than one reference so should it stay?--G Zak S (talk) 16:06, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Are you talking about Rigormortiz? To me, a source that only confirms guest artists appearance is no more substantial than mere chart placements (and perhaps less because the guest appearances are listed right on the album credits itself). We could ask for input from a third party on that article talk page WP:RF3O to see if they feel that the requirements of significant coverage by third party sources has been met. I would be looking more for something like a professional review in SPIN or some other reputable publication, or placement in some kind of "100 best debut albums of the decade" or similar award or recognition. Active Banana (talk) 17:52, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- yes rigamortiz because it has been extended if we need reviews or critical stuff i will help out.--G Zak S (talk) 15:35, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- in rigormortiz there is now more than only a tracklist should stay?--G Zak S (talk) 16:59, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- rigamortiz now has critical response shall it stay?--G Zak S (talk) 15:38, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
