Proposed edit
[edit]Dear Wikipedians! I want to change the article on DKSH because it is outdated. What is your opinion on the following text? Any feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you very much. Fantree (talk) 08:56, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
DKSH is a Market Expansion Services Group with a focus on Asia, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. As the term Market Expansion Services suggests, it helps companies to increase their existing market share and expand into new territories.[1]
History
[edit]In the 1860s, three Swiss entrepreneurs sailed east to Asia. Over the years they established companies which evolved into major players in South East Asia, China, the eastern Asia Pacific region and Japan.
Having mastered the challenges of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Diethelm Group and the Keller Group formally joined forces in the year 2000.
In 2002, Diethelm Keller Services Asia came together with SiberHegner to create DKSH. Since then, DKSH has transitioned from a trading company into a Market Expansion Services provider.
In 2012, DKSH became a publicly listed company on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
Activities
[edit]DKSH offers services that include organizing and running the entire value chain for any product: from sourcing, research and analysis, marketing, sales, distribution and logistics to after-sales services.
DKSH operates in 35 countries through 710 business locations in Asia Pacific, and 25 locations in Europe and the Americas. • Business Units
Business activities are organized into four highly specialized Business Units:
– Business Unit Consumer Goods focuses on fast moving consumer goods, food services, luxury goods, as well as fashion and lifestyle products and hair and skin cosmetics
– Business Unit Healthcare provides healthcare companies with products such as ethical pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter and consumer health products, as well as medical devices.
– Business Unit Performance Materials provides and distributes specialty chemicals and ingredients for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, as well as various industrial applications.

Your proposed changes to lemma DKSH
[edit]Hello, Fantree,it is not a good idea to replace the entire existing text with your proposal. Just correct items or add new info. This shouldn't be an advertising platform for the company. For example, although the company management wants to refocus on market expansion services, it is still a traditional trading house as well.
It seems, that all of your WP contributions/edits have been on the German, French and English lemmas for DKSH.

Hello BBCLCD! Thanks for your valuable input! What exactly do you think is promotional about the text? If I compare this article to the one that is online now, I don't see a very big difference except the outdated facts and figures - it also talks about the core business Market Expansion Services. So please support by telling me which parts or sentences to rephrase by what info exactly. That would be very helpful. Thank you very much! Fantree (talk) 09:29, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Hi Fantree, you want to change outdated facts and figures. The only outdated figures I found are those concerning business in Thailand. Go ahead and update them, as they are important for this company. By the way, this company is not only a "market expansion services" company in Thailand, with over 10'000 employees in that country! Furthermore, the history of the founding personalities and companies is interesting enough to be left in the present text. BBCLCD (talk) 15:15, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Have updated the figures for Thailand myself. BBCLCD (talk) 15:34, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
