Draft material
[edit]From reading web pages: There are a number of variations on the way a DIFOT figure is calculated.
DIFOT = Number of orders delivered in full and on time / total orders shipped[1]
An alternative is:
DIFOT = DIF X DOT
where
DIF = number of orders delivered in full / number of orders delivered
DOT = number of orders delivered on time / number of orders delivered[2]
Neither of these definitions include orders that are already late but have not yet been delivered, either in part or full; in other words, the DIFOT only counts orders that have been delivered, whether in part or in full.
The DIFOT can also be based on:
- Number of orders
- Number of order lines
- Number of units, i.e. the quantity
- Number of shipments or deliveries

TO DO
- Get some decent references! The web ones above are not up to par; they're just examples of DIFOT definitions or usage.
- Format the above references properly.
- Format the above formulae better.
- Give examples for the different bases for calculating the DIFOT, and describe the implications of each.
- Publish this draft!
