Update Organization Information
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. The changes suggested removing content that is well-cited or where sources exist. |
Full disclosure: I work at this organization, so I have a COI. The article has out of date information about leadership, structure, and budget. Suggest the following updates: Current Acting Under Secretary is William N. Bryan, who assumed the role on May 30, 2017. (Source: https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/leadership) Under major program activities, "Acquisition and Operations Support" has been renamed "Capability Development Support." (source: https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/cds) Under Organization, delete "DHS Human Factors and Behavioral Sciences Division" and "DHS Infrastructure Protection and Disaster Management Division," change "Support to the Homeland Security Enterprise and First Responders Group" to "First Responders Group" and "Acquisition Support and Operations Analysis Group" to "Capability Development Support." (source: https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/our-work) In the descriptions for each division, the article may want to add descriptions for the First Responders Group, Capability Development Support, and Research and Development Partnerships Group in addition to the HSARPA divisions already listed. (source: https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/our-work) Remove the following bullets from the division descriptions, since they no longer exist: Command, Control and Interoperability Division, Human Factors Division, and Infrastructure and Geophysical Division. Under Budget, there's additional FY information for FY13 - FY 18 here: https://www.dhs.gov/dhs-budget. Under Initiatives and Programs, delete SAFECOM and HOST since they are no longer under S&T. I'd also recommend linking to this article in the US Department of Homeland Security article, in the Structure table. Declined The sources provided, in only one case, confirmation of the changes you proposed. That change was made to the article. Spintendo ᔦᔭ 04:05, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
Fix Inconsistencies
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
First sentence notes acronym is S&T, so the second sentence should read "DHS S&T serves as the research and development arm of the Department as it fulfills its national security mission." Third sentence names current leader as the acting Under Secretary, but the org's website lists official title as "Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary for Science and Technology" (Ref: https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/leadership) In "Organization" section, leader is listed as someone else. Recommend changing first two sentences in this section to "S&T is led by the Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Science and Technology. The current Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary for Science and Technology is William N. Bryan, who was appointed by President Donald Trump." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikieditormap (talk • contribs) 16:24, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
