I would like to have post the following definition for CA DATACOM/DB. Please let me know if the content is fine to be uploaded in Wikipedia. This content is collated from various DATACOM reference materials from CA (Computer Associates - DATACOM)

"CA DATACOM®/DB is a high-performance relational database management system (rdbms) for z/os and z/vse mainframe operating systems that provides a central data repository for enterprise-class applications that demand stringent service level requirements. To manage the geometric growth of mainframe memory capacities and processor speeds, the CA Datacom/DB database engine is scalable to manage extremely high volume workloads.

CA Datacom/DB’s primary capabilities are:

 Continuous availability  high-performance  Memory management  Symmetrical Multiprocessing  Best OLTP throughput  workload throughput  database services to virtually any application platform.

A CA-Datacom/DB information base can include up To 5,000 databases. Each database consists of an Index Area and 1 to 240 data areas. It can be coded with batch transaction to perform the general maintenance processing of occurrences with the Data dictionary utilities.CA-DATACOM mostly liaises with CA-IDEAL or COBOL programming languages. It is owned by Computer Associates and available in the market under the name of CA Datacom."
