Resolution
[edit]- The FORESTER is a synthetic aperture radar system with a resolution of 6 meters[1] that is mounted inside a 21.5-foot (6.6 m) long pod and designed to be carried under a A160 Hummingbird helicopter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).[2] The system is able to detect vehicles and walking soldiers underneath tree cover from a distance of 30 miles (48 km), giving battle planners the ability to detect potential ambushes.
I confirmed that the source says it has 6-meter resolution. But I'm surprised that it can identify soldiers with that resolution. Most soldiers are about 2 meters high and less than .5 meters across. I assume that the small blob is identified by its characteristic motion. If there's more we can add on how this works, that'd improve the article. Will Beback talk 06:34, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
