A note
[edit]I wanted to add a copy of this info here as I do not have the time to integrate it into the article now.
The following info is about the cyclophorid genera Ditropis, Ditropopsis, and two other somewhat similar genus names, one from the same family, and one from the family Assimineidae.
- According to Nomenclator Zoologicus, both names are recognized :
- Ditropis Blanford 1869 J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, 38, 126.
- Ditropopsis Smith 1897 Ann. Mag. nat. Hist., (6) 20, 416. (see: Discover Life)
- Based on the root "Ditropis", there is also :
- Afroditropis Bequaert & Clench 1936 Rev. Zool. Bot. afr., 29, 102. (The genus Afroditropis is reviewed on the basis of type material of all the species, of which there are only three, viz two in the Central/West African forest belt and one on Sao Tome.)
- Ditropisena Iredale 1933 Rec. Australian Mus., 19, 57. (family: Assimineidae) (Online Zoological Collections of Australian Museums)
- I hope this helps a bit. JoJan (talk) 15:11, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
