Why is there a section about float here? Float is a function of pedals not shoes. We should consider moving this to the Cycling_pedal article.

Float is a function of the shoe-plate. --Eamonnca1 21:21, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Toe spikes

[edit]

Some brands (such as Sidi) offer shoes that are compatible with "toe spikes", for example http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=&subcategory=&brand=&sku=23501&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Show%20All%20Products.

I know that in track-and-field, this is to give the athelete more traction. What is the purpose of toe spikes on cycling shoes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.45.0.133 (talk) 19:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They may not have much use in road cycling, but in Mountain bike they can give you some needed grip on muddy terrain, for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.74.176.55 (talk) 16:09, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

[edit]

Why isn't there a criticism section about the actual need or Cycling shoes?--Degen Earthfast (talk) 16:59, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
