Added material in Danish version

[edit]

A Danish version of this article, Landevejsløbet ved de olympiske lege i sydney, was created on 30 January 2014 and now redirects here. Here is a translation of the two paragraphs it adds to the article. Since they are unreferenced and not fully neutral, I'm placing them here for consideration.

Jan Ullrich had a reputation for coming to races poorly prepared, especially early in the season, and therefore often had to get himself into shape during the Tour de France. However, he was in top form when he arrived at the Olympics, with the result that he won gold in the road race and silver in the road time trial. Ulrich won on a breakaway with his two trusty captains: Andreas Klöden and the later Olympic gold medallist Alexandre Vinokourov, who in 2000 were both competing for Ullrich in Team Telekom and won bronze and silver, respectively.
In the group after the three leaders were several of the favourities, including Lance Armstrong, Danilo Di Luca, Michele Bartoli, Paolo Bettini, Axel Merckx and the best of the Danes, Frank Høj, who finished sixth. However, Lance Armstrong was later disqualified for admitted doping, the only rider to whom this happened, although almost all competitors in the first two groups were later caught doping.
