Hey everyone, I’m here to chat about a potential addition of semi-protection for this page. As you can see, there’s been a more than a couple times that Gauthier’s name has been changed with the “William” being pulled out of the full name. However, Gauthier’s full name does in fact have William in it, as published by ESPN.
Now here’s why I’m asking for semi-protection. Most of the time, the name changes have been done by users without an account, and as we know, this leaves your IP address public. However, at least two of the IPs have traced back to Boston College’s Internet service and the newest non-account user edit was a static IP located in Chestnut Hill. Thus, I suspect that someone close to Gauthier - or perhaps Gauthier himself - has been editing the pages to delete Gauthier’s first name off the page, which is a breach of the COI policy to a T.
