This article is very poorly written, and confuses the boundaries of the United Kingdom with those of England and Wales (which adhere to PACE) and Scotland (which adheres to the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995). Further, it is not the Custody Officer's responsibility to determine if the arrest was legitimate or not, but that the continued detention is lawful and necessary... what can the Custody Officer do if the arrest wasn't legal? Also, not every person who is held in a Custody suite has been arrested (especially in Scotland). --109.232.62.56 (talk) 15:11, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
