I am not in favour of the merging of this article. It already links to the bowlcut page! 'Curtained hair' is a different term, it is more common than 'bowlcut' in many countries, such as England.

Uhh...

[edit]

Seriously what does curtain haircut have to do with a bowlcut?

David Bowie was the first

1987 Cary Elwes

[edit]

The first one who used this hairstyle was David Bowie, but later you can see Cary Elwes in the film "the princess bride" (87)

The Macklemore cut

[edit]

I don't think it has anything to do with curtained hair, why is it mentioned here in the article?--Krystaleen 14:49, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I doublechecked and I don't see it either - none of the cites for it said it WAS curtained hair, so I'm calling someone's original research/personal opinion and have boldly deleted. Mabalu (talk) 17:20, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I'm gonna do some more copyedit, thank you!--Krystaleen 12:55, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the name of this page should be changed to "Undercut". Curtained hair, Hitler Youth haircuts, and Skrillex haircuts are all related, being long on top but cropped at the sides. Curtained hair can be parted either centrally or at the side, and even with heavily pomaded hair the front can still take on the appearance of floppy bangs. Peace and love.

I think you should start a new article for Undercut if that's the case. This article is specifically about curtained hair, therefore all these haircuts don't belong here. Maybe after you made the Undercut article we can further discuss if this Curtained hair article should be merged there.--Krystaleen 05:13, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Undercut" already redirects here, and besides, I don't think such an article would be significant enough for a Wikipedia entry. It would be better to group similar types of haircut together, as was previously done with acid wash and stone wash jeans, or with drainpipe jeans and skinny jeans so readers can see the similarities and differences between the various styles. The long Tom Cruise style curtains all the boys wore in the 90s were basically an undercut that had been allowed to grow out. I have a Hitler Youth now and it's basically the same undercut, but with a parting on the side rather than the center— Preceding unsigned comment added by Osama57 (talkcontribs)

You can edit the article and write some things. I don't think I understand what you mean, if an article about undercut isn't significant enough for a wikipedia entry then an article about curtained hair is certainly much less significant. The proper recourse then would be a deletion nomination, not cramming unrelated hair style into it.--Krystaleen 01:20, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Should "curtain cut" redirect here?

[edit]

Over at The Art of Manliness, they use the term "Curtain Cut" to refer to this hairstyle (link here: http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/10/17/how-to-get-a-curtain-cutundercut-haircut/). What do you guys think of me making the redirect?

Yes, definitely.
