Plot section
[edit]I have done extensive trimming and rewriting of the plot section as requested some time ago on this page, correcting a few errors in the process. Its still kind of long but I think its a lot better than it was before. The ridiculousness of adding traditional Chinese names of movies on wikipedia to Mainland Chinese movies
[edit]As the title says. Not sure this is the proper place to address this but it's as good as any because this article commits that mistake as well.
So first of all. Simplified Chinese is the official script in China which all Mainland China uses as their official written script. This movie like most Chinese movies on Wikipedia (I'm talking Mainland Chinese movies, not Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore or other) Not only has the Traditional Chinese title included for some hipster pretentious reason - but on top of that, it's ABOVE the Simplified Chinese version of it. That is beyond ridiculous to look at for most Mainland Chinese. It's an equivalent of including British versions of words in Hollywood titles and putting those above actual American titles. It's very similar to putting Hanja scrips in South Korean movie titles over Hangul (which as you look at S.Korean movie entries is not the practice on Wikipedia, yet Chinese movies get this idiotic treatment). This is how a page for this movie looks on baike part of baidu website in Mainland China:
Noticed something different? Ah yes! NO Traditional Chinese title in it. Everything in Simplified Chinese. Why? Because it is completely irrelevant for a Mainland Chinese and it is far less relevant than it's actual Simplified Chinese title. And don't get me this nonsense about trying to include a variety of titles around the world. That is not that you're doing. You're making a pretentious placement of an irrelevant Chinese script over the one actually used by billions of people there. In fact I can bet you that most Mainland Chinese couldn't remember as many traditional variants of the Chinese script as simplified (I know, I did test a pretty big sample of them asking exactly that during my work). And if you gonna claim that well it's about Traditional Chinese being first... how about Latin and Greek used for Western names? It's just ridiculous and over the top pretentious. You (Wikipedia people) obviously have NO idea of how exotic is the use of Traditional Chinese in Mainland China. None whatsoever.
Wikipedia claims to be so factual... and yet you let such pretentious nonsense go on. Really annoying. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.70.86.139 (talk) 19:55, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
