[edit]

Curry puffs were introduced from 1511 by the Portuguese who called it Empanada. The original Malay word Epok-Epok is a corruption of Empanada. - Any proof or references to support this statement? : 203.121.83.175 (talk) 15:16, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pap - an original Malasian word"?

[edit]

So, is 'Pap' an original Malasian word? Or does it come from some latin language word "Puff".

or is Puff from some SE Asian language from "Pap"? פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 08:43, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive Editing by Limjanzen

[edit]

Limjanzen (talk) is behaving like an WP:SPA with an apparent nationalistic agenda as the account is being used to misrepresent regional foods as being purely of Malaysian origin, without giving sources to justify the edits, or skewing them towards Malaysia [[1]][[2]][[3]]. Its even to the extent that the editor was removing references that showed the foods had shared origins, such as the removal of this source from the Malaysian Tourism board.[[4]]. I've tried to communicate to the editor about this behaviour without any improvement in the situation. Zhanzhao (talk) 22:59, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A deep fried pastry with a spiced, curry-based meat or vegetable filling? And the first thing you people think about is a Cornish pasty? The curry puff is a samosa variant, get out from behind your keyboard and read a little. Jesus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.102.82.188 (talk) 01:58, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Curry pie into Curry puff

[edit]

According to the curry pie article infobox this is an alternate name for curry puff Spudlace (talk) 06:41, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Curry pie is a stub without any reliable sources except a link selling curry pies. Merging lets us keep a title that many English language speakers will search for even though there's no reliably sourced content to merge even. I don't think we should be directing all those readers to a link to buy curry pies and depriving them of a more detailed encyclopedic article, do you? I'd say that's a case for deletion without redirection. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:31, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's not cultural appropriation; it's fusion cuisine! Klbrain (talk) 22:02, 13 April 2021 (UTC) [reply]
