What is this mysterious "drive circuit"? Delete the drive circuit. Add a bias resistor from Vcc to Q2 collector. The current limit is set by Rsense:
Imax = Vbe / Rsense

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Current limiting. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20061018142732/http://www.initio.com/products/info/inic_940.htm to http://initio.com/products/info/inic_940.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Merge suggestion February 2020
[edit]Foldback (power supply design) could profitably be merged with this article to improve the discussion of the topic here. --Wtshymanski (talk) 17:28, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
NPN example picture enhancement
[edit]The section _Single power-supply circuits_ is good, showing two examples for NPN and PNP transistors. The example picture for PNP shows where the voltage output Vo is, but this is missing from the NPN picture. Can the NPN picture be updated to also show the Vo output symbol? --Dojcubic 29 September 2020 —Preceding undated comment added 21:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- I cleaned up this article a little bit, but I didn't edit the schematic. I've run into similar problems in other electronics articles too. For these types of problems, until a schematic is fixed, I have: 1) added text in the caption to clarify important missing information, 2) added a hidden note after the photo as a reminder that it needs to be fixed at some future date. :: Though not the best solution, it's better than doing nothing. At some point in the future, I need to spend some time learning how to edit and create schematics on Wikipedia. These are the edits that I did tonight: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Current_limiting&type=revision&diff=981255006&oldid=978425950 • Sbmeirow • Talk • 06:49, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
- I dont see why Vo (V output of a current source/limiter ?) is even required in the description of this circuit. Its not in the circuit description so better to not mention it at all. 2A02:214C:8866:4800:8DDD:D1F4:609F:D625 (talk) 15:03, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
