Grail
[edit]Any possible connections with the Holy Grail?
Re: Grail
[edit]I'd conjecture it is probably the source of the stories Holy Grail as a cup.
The stories of the Holy Grail (as a cup) seem to have been transmitted to Europe via the Nart sagas via the Alans.
The Alans (or Alani as they seemed to have called themselves) were (originally) the same race as the Persians.
(Although they eventually mixed with various local European stock to the point where, with the exception of the Ossetians, it would be difficult to tell them apart from other modern day Europeans. Except for maybe looking for high occurrences of Haplogroup G (Y-DNA).)
There's a good book about some of this called: From Scythia to Camelot: A Radical Reassessment of the Legends of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, and the Holy Grail (Arthurian Characters and Themes)
(I've read part of it. I don't know if it discuss the Cup of Jamshid or not.)

Merge with Kai Khosrow article
[edit]The Kai Khosrow article has a section about the Cup of Jamshid/Cup of Kai Khosrow, which is apparently is one and the same. I propose the two articles be merged, unless this article is expanded to a context where the cup is specifically related to the adventures of Jamshid.--Tchoutoye (talk) 15:24, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
