Its not totally true what it's written here. Spanish wasnt the only european influence in South America. Brazil, the biggest country and the biggest population in South America was colonized by Portugal, and there are influences from many other countries, especially Italy, German, Japan (especially in Brazil, its the biggest japanese colony out of Japan) etc. And there is the big influence of Africans, which was brought here as slaves. So, it is much more complex than simpy "spaniards plus indians".
