New Articles?
[edit]You could take any particular facet of 'Culture in Melbourne' and create an entire wiki article about it (as has already been done with street art in Melbourne & various other things) 'Music of Melbourne' needs a seperate article, as does 'Independent Music in Melbourne'. You could create an entire article on 'Live Music Venues in Melbourne' too. Even a 'Markets in Melbourne' article! C'mon people! There is so much contained witin this city & it'd be great to get make such info available to anyone who wants to know, and people want to know all the info they can get.
- its all too easy to slap a neutrally disputed or citation needed on something. people need to use the talk pages more or issues will remain unsolved for long periods of time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.199.248 (talk) 02:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Details in the Entertainment section
[edit]Guys the section on Entertainment seems to have advertising material in it, specifically the part that reads -
- "Flower Drum in Market Lane next to Chinatown is often regarded as Melbourne's finest restaurant by The Age Good Food Guide, as well as been ranked in the top 50 best restaurants in the world by Restaurant Magazine."
I don't have a problem with specifics but this is a little much. How about -
- "Melbourne has many outstanding restaurants, some of which have been globally recognised for their excellence." 61.68.149.210 11:20, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- stilll needs citation as per WP:CITE and best to avoid peacock terms. Michellecrisp 14:34, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- I couldn't agree more. I just didn't want to delete the sentence without some reference to what was said before. 61.68.149.210 07:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Personal opinions on Rupert Murdoch in Media section
[edit]I am personally neutral on the rights and wrongs of Rupert Murdoch, but it is no the place to express opinions on the scope of Rupert Murdoch's hold on Melbourne printed media - recommend removing such comments as '...there is no daily newspaper in Melbourne free of Rupert Murdoch's media empire...' from the Media section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Loberttp (talk • contribs) 02:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Inclusion of street art locations
[edit]I have included locations that have been provided by the City of Melbourne in the street art section: "Some of Melbourne's most prestigious street art pieces exist at the following locations: "Hosier and Rutledge Lane opposite Federation Square ..." If others think that this is inappropriate, looks cluttered, or is too much detail, I will remove it. Thanks in advance.--Soulparadox (talk) 04:33, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think street art locations can be better explained using prose rather than a City of Melbourne-approved list with specific street addresses. - HappyWaldo (talk) 05:32, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think this a reasonable rationale, in contrast to the previous effort, so I will make the relevant revision. Thanks in advance.Soulparadox (talk) 11:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Assessment comment
[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Culture of Melbourne/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
Graded as B-Class as was split from an existing Good article, however needs work making it into its own article, though maintains a high level of content, but requires organisation of the content. Suggesting task force to clear up these minor issues and submit for GA review again or Peer review in view to promote to a featured article. --lincalinca 14:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC) |
