Title

[edit]

I tried to rename this article to correct a misspelled word in the title (Patria without a tilde), I wasn't able to. I'll post it to Requested Moves. If you are able to edit the title, it would be very kind of you to do so. Thank you --Blu 05:35, 14 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Azul carmona (talkcontribs)

First, you should not try to rename an established article without first discussing it here on the talk page.
Second, the title does not have a tilde, which is this sign: ~. It has an accent on the last letter.
The title is correct as it is, because it is in Spanish. Spelling foreign languages correctly is supported by the guidelines for English WP. The spelling of the group's name is given in the reliable reference cited in the article: Giro, Radamés 2007. Diccionario enciclopédico de la música en Cuba. La Habana. p212. A further point is that without correct spelling it is difficult to pronounce a foreign word or name: Chicho Ibáñez is a good example. Spanish gives interested persons some guidance.
Therefore, there are no good grounds for changing the title. Users who type it in without the accent get redirected automatically to the article. Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:00, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The name Cuarteto Patria does not use acute accent on i.
