GA Review
[edit]Overall, I felt that the article was informative but was often hampered by its prose. I did a large copyedit and cleanup, but there may be some other regions needing retouching.
- You often use "mangroves" to refer to the habitat. This is an abbreviation and may not be obvious to all. Use "mangrove forest" or "mangrove swamp" instead, to avoid confusion with the tree.
- Done!
- The lead could use some more expansion. I don't think that it adquately summarizes the entire article. More could be said about its general description and life history in particular.
- Will do, I'm hit and miss on writing leads.
- Capitalization is inconsistent when it comes to "Utila Iguana." Sometimes iguana is capitalized, while sometimes it is not. I'm unsure which one is correct, so I'll let you fix it.
- Fixed
- When it is available, use the English name to refer to a group or institution. For example, Parc Zoologic de Barcelona can be referred to as the Barcelona Zoo (I can't believe they don't even have an article on that!). I'm unsure on what AFE-COHDEFOR or BICA in particular stand for, so I'm leaving them be.
- I started out that way and rather than incur the wrath of the European wikipedians, left them all in their non-English tongues...fixed
- Citation templates should be as specific as possible, and used for all sources. For example, I converted all your journal refs with {{cite journal}}. {{citation}} is just a general ref template, it's best to be specific.
- I'll use the specific from now on!
I may have more, but I have to go now. I'll be back with my final decision. bibliomaniac15 17:52, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

I've given it a thorough cleanup, copyediting, and formatting. I think I can safely say now, after your fixes and mine, that this article is GA class. Good job. bibliomaniac15 20:39, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Not entirely sure on how to use the discussion channel correctly. I was the original creator of the page, i'm very impressed by some of your background research. Some points; BICA stands for Bay Islands Conservation Association, AFE-COHDEFOR stands for Administración forestal del estado - corporación Honduren~a de desarollo forestal translated, forest administration of the state - Honduran corporation of forestry development. Other points include the diet; iguanas regularly eat fiddler crabs in the wild and at the research station, they also eat mangrove leaves despite them being bitter and not to most other animals' taste. Keep up the good work. 02.49 21 December 2008 (GMT) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Addinsell (talk • contribs)
