Inscriptions en trois langues

[edit]

English: Above La Croix is a panel with three lines. The first seems to be in an acceptable Latin (although the spelling of Jesus is original…); the third, supposed to be in Greek, I can't judge; the second is in Hebrew characters but does not mean INRI. Were there any assumptions about the origin of this inscription. At that time, there was no shortage of monks who knew Hebrew, whom they could trust to write it correctly!
