Glue
[edit]Is this the surgical glue species?--Peta 11:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like it is. I love this frog, I really want to see one! --liquidGhoul 11:36, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- I just realised this was on Catalyst (can't believe I missed it!). Yes, it is the same frog. --liquidGhoul 12:00, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
In this article it says the frog uses the glue to caputre insects for food. In the episode of Catalyst it was sounding like its more of a defense tactic rather than a way to get food. ie. it said that the ants that attack the frog get caught in the glue and when the frog sheds it skin it eats it and gets the ants as a benefit.--Tnarg12345 12:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well it can be taken either way I guess (defensive or as food source). I was only paraphrasing from Catalyst when I wrote that. It sounded like it was their main food source but I don't know if that's true. Do the frogs mainly eat other food? —Pengo talk · contribs 05:52, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- The frogs mainly eat ants and termites, but this is a defensive mechanism for when they get attacked by the ants. All frogs shed and eat the skin, the extra ants on there would be a bonus. --liquidGhoul 06:37, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
