A fact from Crown Point Light appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 28 May 2008, and was viewed approximately 1,795 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
While the LOC entry for the photograph states that it was published sometime between 1910 and 1915, it certainly cannot have been taken after 1912, since it certainly no longer existed by that date. It's not clear when construction of the memorial began (the book reference seems to indicate that it was erected very quickly in 1912), but the wording of the LOC remark leaves upon the possibility that the picture was taken before 1910.
