I have just added the name of Captain Cyril Longmore (44th Australian Infantry Battalion)to the list of recipients of the Belgian Croix de Guerre in 1918. The source for this reference is the Australian War Memorial website - www.awm.gov.au Cyril's notification was published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette dated 25 July, 1918, Page No. 1594, position 2. Also in the London Gazette dated 11 March, 1918, page No. 3096, position 1. Have I set out this reference correctly? I am not experienced editing Wikipedia, so could someone check that I have entered these references correctly? I have moved this article from the English name to the French name. It has been pointed out that Belgium is a trilingual country and the English version allows for a neutral point of view. However, our overriding concern is to use the common name in English-language sources. This is unequivocally Croix de guerre. The Dutch Oorlogskruis and the English translation are rarely if ever found in English-language sources. Most of these refer to the world wars (when many Allied soldiers received it), when Belgium was still officially a French-speaking country. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:04, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
