Article naming
[edit]I was wondering, should this page be renamed from Cristian Montano to Cristian Montaño due to the Spanish spelling? Iamred0 Talk to Iamred... 09:53, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Lead
[edit]- Link loan to Loan (sports).
- League Two is linked twice in the lead.
Early life
[edit]- Generally countries are an WP:OVERLINK, so the Colombia and United Kingdom links are probably unnecessary.
West Ham United
[edit]- Link the first mention of loan again.
Oldham Athletic
[edit]- "He scored twice in 15 games in the first half of the 2013–14 season", needs a source.
- "as the support of friends and supporters", the support of supporters is quite repetitive in the quote caption. Can this be reworded slightly?
Port Vale
[edit]- "better at left back then when", probably worth amending then to than here as it's a minor quote error, per MOS:SIC.
References
[edit]- Avoid shouting in ref titles, per WP:ALLCAPS.
- A couple of the West Ham refs appear to have expired, refs 4 and 12 for example, can we recover these?
- Replaced and removed.EchetusXe 10:12, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
A few minor points, but overall this is a very tidy article. Put on hold for now while these are addressed. Kosack (talk) 06:46, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
- Looks good to me, happy to promote. Kosack (talk) 19:22, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

- ... that Cristian Montaño (pictured) spent 18 months out of English football after being sacked and arrested on criminal charges that were never proven? Source: "Cristian was one of 13 footballers arrested on suspicion of spot-fixing by the National Crime Agency in November 2013. He was sacked by Oldham, but was never charged and the case against all 13 players was eventually dropped, after almost two years of stress and worry."

- No major problems visible, article was nominated to GA status in the past 7 days, the hook is interesting and supported by the citation. Image looks good. Only question is should it be "association football" in the hook to distinguish it from Gaelic or American football for the international readers? Aside from that looks ready to go for me.
