Segregation, desegregation, and chronology
This article is sorely in need of improvement in these three respects.
Of all topics that could be discussed in regard to Crispus Attucks High School, one of the most salient is the history of racial segregation in public schools in the United States. Also of great interest is the subsequent desegregation of those schools. This history varies a great deal from state to state and from one locality to another within each state.
For instance, in many places segregated schools for blacks were scandalously inferior to schools for whites. Crispus Attucks was an exception to this general rule, having enjoyed a fine reputation over the years. A discussion of segregation and desegregation in Indianapolis, and in Crispus Attucks High School in particular, would be pointful.
However, the discussion of segregation in this article is pitifully muddled and somewhat self-contradictory. It also contains too few historical dates -- for instance, the date the school was founded is missing. Furthermore, the historical narrative is out of chronological sequence, which is quite confusing, especially with so few dates actually cited. Much clarification is needed.
The article also states that "at that time" blacks in the United States were allowed to attend college, but that they were not allowed to be on college faculties. I believe that these remarks are misleading in the extreme, but they are also awfully vague because no date is cited in order to explain what is meant by "at that time." Furthermore, no distinction is made between traditionally black colleges and other institutions, which is a crucial issue when discussing the history of higher education for African-Americans.

- I've reorganized the historical contnt into chronological sections and added citations to support the additional content. I was unable to find the citation related to colleges not hiring African Americans as faculty members, so its tagged as citation needed. I agree, that particular passage needs further details and citations. Rosalina523 (talk) 16:15, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
