I started this article because I thought the song needed to be covered by Wikipedia. I used one resource as a reference. It would be nice if there were someone who knew more about mountain folk music to come behind me and clean it up. Shadowmane (talk) 20:11, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I would leave to the author, as there is probably no way to confirm it, but Cripple Creek is nearly identical melody to Czech, specifically Moravian Christmas Carrol "Pásli ovce Valaši".
Some trivia: The version recorded by Leo Kottke in 1971 has a different time signature than most versions of the song. Even tho the melody sounds similar, it has a very different feel from most versions of Cripple Creek. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.59.188.29 (talk) 17:50, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
