Controversy section
[edit]The section needs sources and some rewriting to get rid of POV language (referring to "hoods," for example), but my immediate question is what this means: One evening, Jones was assaulted by some local hoodlums and he later called Sterling to run interference. "Running interference" as I understand the phrase doesn't fit here, so a word change would be in order. | Mr. Darcy talk 22:38, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- Totally agree it would need rewriting, my question is why the controversy appears in the album's page? Until it talks about criminal minded being difficult to get hold of it seems to be BDP/KRS-One controversy. Don't know enough to edit this though - maybe it is linked and I don't understand. The last sentence (R.E.M. collaboration and Tibetan Freedom Concert performance) doesn't have anything to do with this album and should be removed from this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gettiton (talk • contribs) 01:46, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bdp1.jpg
[edit]Image:Bdp1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:35, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Re: Samples
[edit]1) I seem to recall that "Criminal Minded" contains merely an interpolation of "Hey Jude" at the very beginning, not an actual sample. Or perhaps I've been smoking the wrong substances again?
2) Was "South Bronx" sampled for Rey Mysterio's earlier entrance music, specifically the hip-hop-flavored song used prior to "Booyaka 619?" Sure sounds like it to me.

Initial Summary
[edit]"In fact, the whole album was built on the frustration and jealousy Kris felt by MC Shan with half of its songs about being aware and therefore targeting of Sucker MCs."
This seems subjective and perhaps written by someone taking the Queensbridge side of The Bridge Wars. Certainly it does't belong in the initial summary section. Also it's not written well, probably should say something more like "jealousy that Kris felt towards MC Shan". I'm not sure what the last part of the sentence is supposed to mean. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woodstea (talk • contribs) 15:16, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
