So (summarizing your generalizations), you didn't actually read everything then. A campus tragedy occurred there. It only involved one student and not 30+ (like the VT Massacre) so it didn't get as much press, but it was a tragic death nonetheless. He didn't jump into the bridge (which is the topic), but into a stream. Along the same lines, there are occasional deaths due to falling down an elevator shaft (perhaps you're planning to write a corresponding topic for occurrences like that at your school). Correction. The article is the Crim Dell Bridge. The article is both about the bridge and the body of water (Crim Dell) it crosses. You may not like the sources he has provided, but they are more than sufficient to sustain notability. And yes, I imagine if a person died falling down an elevator shaft, I would expect that would verify the notability of both the building in which the elevator was located, and the company that maintained the elevator.
