In July 2017, the oldest credit union in the state of Virginia announced it was changing its name to the Credit Union of Richmond. Richmond Postal Credit Union is a federally insured, financial cooperative headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. It is regulated under the authority of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) of the U.S. federal government. Richmond is the oldest credit union in that state of Virginia.
