[edit]many catholic church, mozaic etc....there are no such things ..if you find just one of them..then you can put here..it's a lie what is this joke....i wish to find in Craiova ...other churchies but surely you're joking......... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.71.73.17 (talk • contribs) .
- Regardless, you are removing the end of that sentence without even inserting a period at the end, which makes it look like vandalism. El_C 02:05, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Mihai Andrei, don't lie to all.....why you're lieing abot Craiova? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.71.73.17 (talk • contribs) .
- Who is Mihai Andrei? It's just the two of us here. El_C 02:11, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
it's a lier ... ;) very, very, strange lier —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.71.73.17 (talk • contribs) .
- This, indeed, is very, very strange. I did not lie. El_C 02:19, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Do you have any figures you can cite? Not to imply Mihai Andrei (?) and so on, but verifiability-wise, I'm not inclined to take your word for it. El_C 02:25, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- You claim a city with +300,000 people dosen't have a single mosque or a catholic church? I find that difficult to believe. And, yes, I did think it was only vandalism since you repeatedly failed to finish the sentence until I mentioned it. El_C 02:30, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Relax, I'm living in Craiova....I know better than you, Craiova don't you think? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.71.73.17 (talk • contribs) . and I don't lie about those churches ...I don't have any reason —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.68.88.109 (talk • contribs) .
- Try to stay on-topic, without predictions as to my emotional state. Anyway, perhpas you live there, perhaps not, I can't tell and it's not relevant as per Wikipedia verifiability policy (which I hope you will take the time to read) anyway. El_C 03:43, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
I finded this page by hazard, I'm not o wikipedia fan..but still...I'm trying to help ........."perhaps I'm living here, perheps not" :D geeeee
and another thing...population: 305 000 inhabitants not 320 000 ...if we talk about Craiova city ..not Craiova and suburbs —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.68.88.109 (talk • contribs) .
- There is a Roman Catholic Church in Craiova: its site, a Jewish temple, but I couldn't find references on any mosques. 83.103.181.182 11:54, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Which goes to show why we don't necessarily take locals' words at face value! Stan 18:26, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Wrong Stan, a Jewish temple, if you read more, that mosaic sinagog was betwen 1932 and 1945 ...the comunist parti transformed the place in factory
its site, there are only one catholic church in Craiova and a few belivers
in Craiova,never was any mosques.
In this moment, in Craiova are plenty ortodox churchies and one catholic church ,sorry about that and there isn't any mosques and sinagogs.......almost all the Craiova's inhabitans are roumaniains and ortodox christians, this is the reason .I'm living in Craiova too and I know better than anyone here what is true and what is lie about my city. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.156.128.113 (talk • contribs) .
(from www.jewish.ro)
- So, there were two Jewish temples, one Ashkenazi and one Sephardi, the Sephardi one was destroyed by the 1977 earthquake, while Ashkenazi one (built in 1832) was renovated in 1984 and now it's the only synagogue in the city. bogdan 19:14, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
now it is't sinagog, is just a factory ,sorry.....so,only one catholic church.... Now, who speeks the true and who's lying? where are those "many catholic churches, mosques, sinagogs, budhist temples and so on .... :D geeee —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.156.32.237 (talk • contribs) .
- This was under hot dispute on the Romanian wikipedia. Locals editing the article won't accept the religious minorities of the cities (roman-catholics & israelites). Of course, there is no wonder that (maybe) the same people are trying to do the exact same thing here... For instance, the romanian article has already been protect in December because of edit wars, it has been unprotected but dispute has restarted so the article had to be protected again. --Vlad 09:35, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
the roumanian version is diputed for another things, not for this. this is simply not true the sinagog was transformated in factory in '60 and the catholic church never existed —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Steel1 (talk • contribs) .
- This is one of the things under dispute, too. And you know it! :) Says who? when there are pictures and everything! :) come on, what are you afraid of? How come you're so afraid of minorities just beats me... --Vlad 12:06, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
now, it isn't, and you know very well that I'm telling the truth, tis picture is made in 40's and you know it...I'm wanthing to see a catholic church in Craiova, and a sinagog too, but there isn't. It seems stupid to invent them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.68.228.230 (talk • contribs) .
- I refuse to talk to someone who keeps changing IP address & users but in the essence writes the same thing in the same style. English wikipedia has even stricter rules about how one can change an article (without any comment). --Vlad 12:47, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
it's a personal dispute here, because I'm sure you're convincted too that I'm right. I don't know exacly why you're spreading lies.vlad , you're deliberately lying. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.68.90.118 (talk • contribs) .
- Dear anonymous, this is a personal attack, not allowed on Wikipedia; you keep changing ips and identities; just made this edit on romanian wiki a couple of minutes ago: http://ro.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Discu%C5%A3ie:Craiova&curid=37056&diff=212362&oldid=212358 where you seem to be more conciliant. If I'm a liar, than you imply Bogdan & Mihai are lying too (as they seem to share the same point of view like I do). --Vlad 13:25, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's like when the dispute on the Romanian version was heated in December & you or a clone of you were so afraid of [:ro:Utilizator:Mihai Andrei], that you keep accusing him of lying, when he wasn't even here! :) http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Craiova&diff=next&oldid=31412538 making the poor El C to wonder who Mihai Andrei is: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Craiova&diff=next&oldid=31413079 I think you mixed up disputes :) --13:27, 15 January 2006 (UTC) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pv7721 (talk • contribs) .
Before you accuse me, take a look at yourself..how many clons din you have? and this problem it isn't the true problem. I'm asking you, you're so decidend to spree those lies, who's paying you? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.68.90.118 (talk • contribs) .
- :) How many clones do I have? I'm ro:Vlad and User:Pv7721 (obviously because Vlad was already taken on the English wikipeda. If you're checking the history on this page, I've edited it only as Pv7721 whereas you edited as: 67.71.73.17, 67.68.88.109, 69.156.128.113, 69.156.32.237, qnd today only, since we've started to speak as: Steel1, 67.68.228.230 and 67.68.90.118. About paying, I think you've got it all wrong: wikipedia is a free enciclopedy, why should anyone pay anyone for doing what? What do you accuse me of? And you tell me what the real problem is? What lies have I spread? Please try to be precise, because up to now you haven't done anything but attacking me without any proof. Please be aware that sockpuppeting while tolerated it is frowned upon & personal attacks are definitely not tolerated. --Vlad 14:41, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

- Exactly. It should be split into Native Craiovans, Famous residents, etc. bogdan 09:53, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
bogdan giusca, you are simply stupid. You can check this list at Craiova's official webportal.Your poor culture don't give you permission to talk about Craiova.
- You can be blocked with no warning for a milder insulte than this. --Vlad 21:23, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Hm...
[edit]The name of the city appears to be quite similar to a the name of "home" in polish.(i noticed this in the Armia Krajowa article) AdrianCo (talk) 22:57, 18 January 2008 (UTC)AdrianCo
- "Krajowa" in Polish doesn't mean only "home", but also "domestic" and "national". In fact, "Krajowa" is also the name of "Craiova" in Polish, and the Romanian name itself is of Slavic origin, with Latin denomination being "Pelendava". ro:User:Remigiu 11:31, 28 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.21.66.133 (talk)
Actually "Pelendava" is not a latin name but dacian. The romans, after conquering Dacia, built a castrum there, but the dava (dacian name for town) was already there.--Dragan Alex (talk) 16:23, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Hungarian Rule
[edit]Did the Hungarian Kingdom ever extend that far south into Romania, as suggested here during the Árpád dynasty? This is why beyond Transylvania. The Hungarian name Király can just be a translation of Craiova. Maesena (talk) 01:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
