Not the third lineman ever taken first.

[edit]

The trivia section noted that Brown was the 3rd-ever DL taken with the first overall pick, which is false. The 10 DLs that were taken first overall before him were:

1967- Bubba Smith (DE) 1972- Walt Patulski (DT) 1973- John Matuszak (DE) 1974- Ed "Too Tall" Jones (DE) 1976- Lee Roy Selmon (DE) 1982- Kenneth Sims (DT) 1985- Bruce Smith (DE) 1991- Russell Maryland (DT) 1992- Steve Emtman (DT) 1994- Dan Wilkinson (DT)

Is he retired?

[edit]

I know it was suggested, but i haven't seen anything. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2805059 doesn't mention his retirement. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2574 says that it "looks like", but right now i don't see anything that says he's filed his papers. This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot (talk) 18:32, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eye injury

[edit]

Wasn't it Orlando Brown, not Courtney Brown, who suffered the penalty-flag injury to his eye? (See the Wikipedia article on Orlando Brown.) Orlando Brown passed away recently, and I'm pretty sure local media in Cleveland mentioned this injury in conjunction with his death. (Part of the confusion here is undoubtedly the fact that both of these men played for the Cleveland Browns.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SparkleCents (talkcontribs) 03:33, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
