Countertenor

[edit]

@Wbm1058: Jumping to discuss here so we don't keep reverting each other. I'm not finding any sources where "counter" is used on its own to refer to a countertenor. In Nicholas Lens it's inferred by context in a list of other vocal ranges, but I think even then the link should be expanded to read "countertenor" instead. What do you think? Are there counter sopranos, counter altos, counter basses, I have no idea. I have never heard of the term "counter" in the context of music. Frankly when I disambiguated that I was just making an "educated guess" based on the context of the sentence. Finding confirmation on the dab page that this is a legitimate term would have been reassuring. I suppose Template:Voice type gives me additional reassurance that "counter" always means a "counter tenor".
As an aside I find the idea that the primary topic for "counter" is countertop is laughable. A countertop is not a counter; it is the top of a counter. As a result of this make-work exercise of pulling digital counters off of primary topic status, I have removed a couple of links to counter as WP:OVERLINKs to everyday words; in other words, there is no PT to link to. So if you insist on removing the music-context usage, which I found helpful, then do also remove the countertop item as well. We don't need to be linking to grocery counters.
