Corvette Motoryacht
[edit]I believe this is the first entry in Wikipedia for a Corvette motorboat/motoryacht. I have qualified "Corvette" with motoryacht to avoid confusion with the Corvette car or warship. I hope Corvette owners, past, present and potential will find the history and facts helpful. Everything has been carefully researched as far as possible, with reliable material from many sources, which I have acknowledged. I also own a Corvette 320 which I have had experience with since March 2014 and have resurrected an owners group, which is referred to in the article ("Corvette Motorboat Association"). I hope to add more in the future, including pictures.DavidPaygate (talk) 18:02, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I would like to get a more accurate estimate of total 32/320 production. I have stated this as 158 but the production output for '84 - '91 seems over-optimistic. DavidPaygate (talk) 15:40, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
I have removed the orphan "issue" as I do not believe this is an issue. The Corvette Motoryacht as a boat is unique and anyone searching for this, using this phrase, will only find this comprehensively researched article on Corvette Motoryachts, which is why I created it in the first place - there was nothing prior to this. The whole point of qualifying the word "Corvette" is to avoid confusion with the Chevrolet car and Corvette warship, as mentioned above, which are both irrelevant in the context of this article.DavidPaygate (talk) 08:34, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
- I think you have misunderstood what is meant by "orphan" on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Orphan. Kendall-K1 (talk) 23:06, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
@DavidPaygate: I have explained to you what is meant by "orphan", but you have now removed this tag three times without addressing the problem. In addition you have reverted several other edits without providing an explanation. Please discuss here why you have made these changes. Continuing to revert is edit warring and is considered disruptive. Kendall-K1 (talk) 11:44, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
With respect, from where I sit, you're the one being "disruptive". Much of the information you've edited out would be of value to Corvette owners and prospective owners as such information is not easy to find. I am a Chartered Engineer of some 40 years experience and do my research as thoroughly as I can. It seems to me your main interest is in the academic purism of editing for the sake of it rather than leaving information of practical use to readers, even if it does not tick 100% of the editing rules boxes. If you are more experienced in dealing with "Orphan" issues, then perhaps you'd be kind enough to make the edits needed to rectify this as clearly I have not grasped the academic meaning of the term.DavidPaygate (talk) 15:36, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- I left a welcome message on your talk page. Some of the links there should help you to understand some of the policies and guidelines we have. I recommend you start with WP:V. Kendall-K1 (talk) 19:52, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- @DavidPaygate: - I second what Kendall-K1 said. There is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia. You are not expected to learn it all at once. The important bits are WP:V, WP:RS, WP:CITE and WP:5P. People will help if you ask them to. Mjroots (talk) 13:04, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
