"Famous Horseshoe sunken area"
[edit]According to www.ancientcanalbuilders.com/florida/cortez.html, southeast of Cortez is "the famous Horseshoe sunken area. When the Spanish first came to this area, parts of building here were still viewable at low tide levels. The circle is about 85 ft in diameter. In this area are a series of structure with specific form near the South Cortez channel. The Horseshoe is approximately 170 ft at its widest point with a circle or raised area and other shapes in the large end. Just above and to the left is a partial circle and other structure lines."
Is this really a "famous" phenomenon? Can anyone provide more information about this? 174.24.55.234 (talk) 15:40, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
