Scotland
[edit]Surely this law did not apply in Scotland, where the established church was Presbyterian. How did that work after the Act of Union? --Jfruh (talk) 01:12, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, when the law was passed the established church of Scotland was not Presbyterian but episcopalian. Only after 1689 was Presbyterianism established in Scotland. However, you are of course right: this was until the Union an English law. And after Union it would have taken into account that the CoS was Presbyterian. Str1977 (talk) 19:44, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
